What it is

Parenting from connection, not control

The generational pattern all of us inherit

We parent the way we were parented, until something makes us stop. Yelling that doesn’t work. Battles that repeat every day. The guilt afterwards. This program starts with a different question: not “how do I fix my child” but “What lies beneath my child’s behaviour, the why, and then the how to parent in the way that suits your child and your family”.

The shift

Your child isn’t giving you a hard time. They’re having one.

Donna supports and guides you from reacting to responding in a way that will guide your family from surviving to thriving. Shining the light on the triggers underneath your reactions, creating firm but fair boundaries without fear or force, and building the kind of relationship you may have wanted at the same age.

Who it’s for

For the parents in the thick of it

This is not about fixing your strong-willed child. It’s about understanding what’s underneath their behaviour and giving you the tools to move your whole family from simply surviving to genuinely thriving.

This is for parents navigating big emotions, meltdowns, defiance, sibling conflict, constant power struggles or feeling disconnected from their child. It’s also for the parent who notices they are being triggered, repeating patterns from their own childhood or questioning how to hold boundaries without yelling, punishment or giving in. Whether you’re parenting a toddler, school-aged child, pre-teen or teen, you will learn how to understand the behaviour underneath the behaviour, regulate yourself first and create more connection, cooperation and calm in your home.

The Heart of It All

The beliefs beneath every strategy

Behaviour is communication

It’s the smoke, not the fire. Every hard moment is a message — we always ask what’s underneath. Like an iceberg, what we see on the surface is only the tip; so much more lies beneath, driving the behaviour we notice.

Safety before strategies

No script or boundary lands until a child’s nervous system feels safe. So we learn to regulate ourselves, lead by example, and give both ourselves and our children the ability to learn to regulate.

Steady parents, safe children

When parents stay steady and can co-regulate in stressful moments, a child learns through modelling — and their nervous system feels safe enough to begin regulating too.

Connection before correction

The parent is to be steady and connect first. The lesson comes once everyone is calm — never during the storm.

Firm but fair

The safe base and staying steady allows a child to regulate and learn. Not permissive, never harsh — be a leader in your home again.

Having a hard time, not giving you one

The same behaviour, a different parent lens. When parents look through a different lens, they see things differently and can start to steer their family out of the storm.

No shame, no blame, no guilt

Only hope. Progress, not perfection — fewer dysregulated days, not zero.

Rupture, then repair

It’s not the rupture that harms a child. It’s the rupture that’s never repaired.

Yes, and it often works best that way - Module 7 is all about staying united as parents, even when you’re co-parenting from different homes. Sessions can include one or both of you, and it works just as well when only one of you attends; if you’re co-parenting, you’ll still get tools to support you through that season too.
